Breaking News: Tripartite Committee Convenes in Abuja to Discuss New Minimum Wage
The tripartite committee is currently convening for discussions on the new national minimum wage.
Taking place at the Nicon Luxury Hotel in Abuja, this marks the fifth meeting since organized labor’s industrial action suspension.
Prominent figures attending include the Director General of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), the Minister of Labour and Employment (State) Nkiruka Onyejeocha, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, a representative from the Salaries, Income and Wages Commission, Minister of Finance Wale Edun, and Minister of Budget and National Planning Atiku Bagudu.
Following assurances given during Thursday’s session, there’s anticipation that a proposed figure might be announced by Friday.
This comes after organized labor temporarily suspended their industrial action for one week to allow the committee to finalize negotiations and present a figure to the National Assembly.
