BREAKING: Nnamdi Kanu’s Lead Counsel Withdraws from Ongoing Trial

Lead counsel to detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, Kanu Agabi (SAN), has withdrawn from representing him in court, stating that the defendant had taken back control of his legal representation.

All other Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) on the defence team have also withdrawn from the case — a move Kanu himself confirmed during court proceedings.

Addressing the court, Kanu said he would be representing himself for the time being, though he may reconsider that decision later. When the presiding judge asked if he would like a lawyer assigned to him, he declined the offer.

Arguing orally in his own defence, Kanu maintained that the court lacked the jurisdiction to try him.
