The announcement comes amid ongoing protests across Lagos, Oyo, Abuja, and other states, with demonstrators demanding a reversal of the fuel subsidy removal and addressing the rising costs of goods and services. The #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protests have seen incidents of looting by hoodlums in Kano and other northern regions, with police efforts underway to recover stolen items.
