The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, revealed that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Senate President David Mark, and others quit the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) because they failed to seize the party’s leadership.

Speaking to journalists on Thursday, Wike said David Mark aspired to be PDP chairman but was denied, prompting his defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Wike warned Nigerians to be wary of coalition members, describing them as “hungry” and angry due to their loss of power.

“Nigerians need to be careful of these group of Nigerians who are angry because they left power,” he stated.

He further asserted that the opposition has weakened itself ahead of the 2027 elections.

This comes after the coalition led by Atiku, David Mark, and others adopted the ADC as their platform to challenge President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
