Counter-Protest Against Free Nnamdi Kanu Movement

A counter-protest opposing the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), began on Monday in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

A video of the demonstration was shared on Facebook by a user identified as Pastor Gyemu, showing participants rallying against the ongoing calls for Kanu’s release.

This development comes hours after pro-Kanu demonstrators gathered in parts of Abuja to demand his immediate release from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS), where he has been held since June 2021.

The initial rally was part of a broader movement urging the federal government to comply with court rulings that have ordered Kanu’s release.
