Ayirimi Emami, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, has stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not responsible for the widespread hunger affecting the nation.

Speaking during the Ologbotsere Day Celebration in Ubeji, Warri South Local Government Area, Emami acknowledged the suffering experienced by many Nigerians but emphasized that hunger is part of the broader issues President Tinubu inherited upon assuming office.

He attributed the current hunger crisis to the “poor foundation” left by previous administrations and stressed that the president is actively working to address these challenges.

While recognizing the right to protest in a democracy, Emami criticized the approach of those organizing a planned nationwide protest against hunger, urging them to ensure their demonstrations are conducted peacefully and without disruption.

Emami warned against letting the protest be hijacked and reassured that President Tinubu is committed to finding solutions to the hunger crisis and improving citizens’ welfare.
