Eid-El-Fitr: FG declared Thursday as an additional public Holiday
The Federal Government has declared Thursday as an additional public holiday to commemorate this year’s Eid-El-Fitr.
Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, announced this decision in a statement issued on Tuesday.
The statement reiterated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring a safe and prosperous Nigeria for all citizens.
Initially, Tuesday and Wednesday were designated for the Eid-El-Fitr celebrations. However, due to the non-sighting of the crescent moon on Monday, the holidays were extended.
This decision aligns with the declarations made by Saudi Arabia and the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, who designated Wednesday, April 10, as Eid el-Fitr.
