EndBadGovernance Protesters in Sokoto

The second day of the nationwide demonstrations against poor governance has seen a return to normalcy in Sokoto State, with major streets free of protesters on Friday morning.

A reporter covering the situation noted that key roads, including Bello Way, Gusau Road, Sultan Palace, Government House, and Emir Yahya Roads, were completely empty of demonstrators.

It’s worth remembering that on Thursday, when the protests initially commenced, these same streets—along with the entrance to the state Government House—were filled with protesters.

Reports indicate that a few vendors, particularly in the old market, Sahara, and Central market, partially opened their shops for business on Friday. In contrast, banks and several government offices were still closed at the time this report was prepared.
