The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has confirmed the approval of an airstrip at Canaanland, the site of the Living Faith Church located in Ota, Ogun State.

David Oyedepo, the church’s founder, celebrated this announcement during a video address to his congregation. He revealed the news at the Tehillah Night Special Edition event held at Covenant University Chapel, which coincided with his recent 70th birthday celebration.

Tunde Moshood, the minister’s media aide, affirmed the airstrip’s approval, noting, “Yes, the minister approved the airstrip. It is a private airstrip.”

Oyedepo explained that the new airstrip would allow him to travel directly from the church, eliminating the need to fly to the nearest airport. He expressed, “I am sure you will be glad to know that the Federal Government has approved an airstrip for Canaanland. I won’t need to fly a helicopter to the airport. I can leave from here to wherever I am going. Members with their planes will have a place to land and park.”

The airstrip is expected to enhance transportation for worshippers and visitors, especially during large events that attract attendees from around the world. Oyedepo also encouraged his congregation to find their purpose in God’s plan, highlighting Covenant University graduates who have become pilots as examples of pursuing their dreams.

“Won’t you be glad to know that there are some captains who are graduates of Covenant University that fly me? It’s not about boxing you in; it’s about helping you locate God’s plan and pursue it accordingly. Young people, don’t waste your life; you don’t have a spare,” he advised.
