Free Nnamdi Kanu Now Protest

Human rights activist and #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest organizer, Omoyele Sowore, narrowly escaped gunfire at the protest site on Monday morning.

According to NIGERIA NEWS 247, security forces—including police and military personnel—took control of the protest grounds around 7 a.m. In a widely shared video, Sowore and other protesters were seen running for safety amid the chaos.

The protesters had planned to march to Aso Rock Villa to demand the release of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). However, the Nigeria Police Force had previously warned against holding protests near the presidential residence.
