Ganduje Assures Tinubu of Committee’s Success in Herders-Farmers Crisis, Thanks President

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has pledged to President Bola Tinubu that the Presidential Committee on Implementation of Livestock Reforms will exceed expectations and bring relief to Nigerians amid the farmers-herders crisis.

During the committee’s inauguration at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Ganduje expressed gratitude to the President for endorsing the initiative, stating, “We will surpass your expectations and bring relief to Nigerians. Once again, we thank the President.”

The committee’s mandate includes addressing challenges hindering agricultural productivity and creating new opportunities for farmers, herders, processors, and distributors in the livestock-farming value chain.

The committee’s report on livestock reforms was submitted to the President on September 28, 2023. It recommended the establishment of a “Ministry of Livestock Resources” under Tinubu’s leadership, aimed at mitigating longstanding conflicts between farmers and nomadic cattle herders across the country.
