Gov. Yusuf Approves Cabinet Reshuffle, Senior Staff Redeployment in Kano State

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle and senior civil service postings, aimed at enhancing governance and boosting service delivery across key ministries.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, on Monday.

According to the statement, the changes form part of ongoing efforts to improve efficiency and align leadership roles with the state’s development priorities.

As part of the reshuffle:

  • Hon. Haruna Dederi, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, has been redeployed to the Ministry of Transport.

  • Barr. Mustapha Nuruddeen Muhammad, the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Environment as Permanent Secretary.

  • The Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, who had been serving in an acting capacity at the Ministry of Transport, will now return to his substantive role at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.

Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to accountability, efficiency, and purposeful leadership, stating that the redeployment is designed to maximize capacity, align roles with expertise, and ensure the effective delivery of government mandates.

He also urged all affected officials and staff to cooperate fully with the new appointees to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of service.

The Governor has directed that all handover and takeover processes be concluded before the close of business on Tuesday, 23rd September 2025, with affected officials handing over to the most senior officers in their respective ministries.
