Government Knows Perpetrators Behind Killings in Nigeria – Cardinal Onaiyekan

Archbishop Emeritus of Abuja Catholic Archdiocese, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, has called on the Nigerian government to prioritize the safety of citizens over denial, stressing that authorities are aware of those responsible for the ongoing killings.

Speaking on Saturday in an interview with Arise Television, Cardinal Onaiyekan addressed the recent wave of violence and abductions across the country. He said, “Nobody can counteract the fact that Nigerians are being killed. The Federal Government must shift away from its defensive approach of denying or downplaying allegations of mass killings of Nigerians.”

The cleric emphasized that persistent denials fail to reflect the reality faced by millions living in fear. “Instead of fixating on 2027, the government should concentrate on ensuring the safety and survival of its citizens,” he added.
