Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun has assured retired police officers protesting over inadequate retirement benefits that he will personally address their concerns.

This assurance was relayed through the Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, following a protest in Abuja on Monday led by Omoyele Sowore, former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), alongside other activists.

The retired officers are demanding better welfare and improved pension arrangements for both current and former personnel of the Nigeria Police Force.
