Insecurity: Trump, Nicki Minaj Comments of Christian Genocide ‘adding salt to Injury’ – Security expert Bulama Bukarti
Security expert Bulama Bukarti has criticized US President Donald Trump and American rapper Nicki Minaj, saying their comments on Nigeria’s security situation are worsening the country’s challenges.
Bukarti made the remarks on Wednesday during an interview on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme monitored by NIGERIA NEWS 247, responding to statements by Trump and Minaj alleging a coordinated Christian genocide in Nigeria.
“Donald Trump and Nicki Minaj are adding salt to injury. While Nigerians are dying, they are using the opportunity for political rhetoric and entertainment,” Bukarti said.
He questioned the decision to involve Minaj in discussions on Nigeria’s insecurity at the United Nations, noting that she has no direct connection to the country.
“It tells you how seriously these people take our lives that a musician who has never been to Nigeria was invited to the United Nations to discuss insecurity in Nigeria. We have prominent security experts, survivors, and families of the victims, but none of them were invited; instead, a musician with no relationship to Nigeria was given the platform.
“When she got there, she gave a speech claiming to love Christians in Nigeria, but she was laughing at the end of the speech less than two minutes after she spoke,” Bukarti added.
