1. CBN lays off Employees: Over the span of Thursday and Friday, over 300 employees at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) were laid off, as confirmed by individuals directly impacted who spoke to Nigeria News 247 on Saturday. Reports indicate that an additional 200 disengagement letters have already been prepared and are set to be given to affected employees in the upcoming days.

2. During a meeting with the Yoruba Leaders of Thought, President Bola Tinubu assured them that his government will meet the aspirations of Nigerians and emphasized the importance of governance being transformative and responsive to the people’s essential requirements. Tinubu also stated that Nigeria is not in a state of crisis.

6. The Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps has arrested three men for their alleged involvement in criminal activities in the state. In a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr Aidamenbor Daniel, sighted on Friday, the suspects included one Abraham Achibong, who was accused of defiling his eight-year-old daughter.
