1. Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, has urged Nigerians to pray for the country and its leaders to overcome the current challenges. He emphasized that with prayers and support from the people, Nigeria can overcome its socio-political problems.

2. Kidnapping: Archbishop Uka Uka Osim of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, along with his wife and son, were kidnapped in Abia State on May 1, 2024, along with three other clergymen of the same faith.

3. Thursday: Gunmen killed Malam Kabiru Mohammed, the village head of Marke in Kaduna State. The attackers, suspected to be hired killers, invaded his residence and killed him in the early hours of Thursday.

4. Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road: DStv and GOtv customers in Nigeria should expect service disruptions from May 5 to May 7 due to ongoing construction on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway. The companies assured customers that efforts would be made to minimize service disruptions during this period.
