NSCDC Enhances Security Ahead of Planned Protest

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed personnel to protect all critical national assets and infrastructure ahead of the planned nationwide protest.

This announcement was made in a press statement signed by ASC Badruddeen Tijjani Mahmud, the spokesman for the Jigawa State Command, and issued to NIGERIA NEWS 247.

State Commandant Muhammad Danjuma has directed all Area Commanders and Divisional officers to engage with all critical stakeholders in their Areas of Responsibility (AoR) to raise awareness about the potential implications of the protest.

Commandant Danjuma stressed the importance of maintaining peace and stability, urging the youth to reflect on the current security situation in Jigawa State.

“We recognize the right to peaceful protest as a fundamental democratic principle,” he stated. “However, protecting our state’s vital assets and infrastructure is paramount. We have increased our vigilance and readiness to ensure the safety and security of all residents and properties.”

He added that the command is coordinating with other security agencies to provide a robust security presence at key locations, aiming to prevent any potential disruptions and ensure the protest proceeds without incident.

“We urge the youth and all citizens of Jigawa State to consider the broader implications of their actions,” he stated.
