A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and member of the Obidient Movement, Dickson Iroegbu, has criticized President Bola Tinubu for responding too late to Nigeria’s worsening security crisis.

Iroegbu made the remarks on Friday while appearing on Prime Time, a programme on Arise Television, as monitored by NIGERIA NEWS 247.

His comments come amid escalating insecurity across the country. In just one week, bandits attacked three states—Kebbi, Kwara, and Niger—abducting scores of schoolgirls and Christian worshippers.

Reacting to the attacks, Iroegbu said, “I think the President is rather waking up too late to this insecurity issue, something he should have addressed much earlier. The people of Nigeria want to unite and find solutions to the challenges we face. Propaganda and economic gains alone cannot resolve these problems. We must acknowledge that governance in Nigeria is facing serious issues, and there is an urgent need to tackle them.”
