Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, along with a delegation, visited former Super Eagles winger, Tijani Babangida, at his residence in Abuja on Thursday.

This visit aimed to offer support and condolences to Babangida, who recently suffered a tragic auto accident resulting in a broken right leg and the loss of his son and younger brother, Ibrahim Babangida, a former international footballer who notably played for Nigeria in the 1993 FIFA U-17 World Cup-winning team. Tijani’s wife was also seriously injured in the accident.

In his statement, Peter Obi expressed deep sympathy and solidarity with the Babangida family, acknowledging their significant contributions to Nigerian sports and the pride they brought to the nation through their talents. He emphasized the importance of offering support and attention during such difficult times, assuring Tijani that he and his family are not forgotten.
