A large crowd of protesters, supported by various groups from across Kaduna metropolis, demanded the resignation of President Bola Tinubu. The demonstration began at the Stadium Roundabout, with participants marching along Junction Road towards Ahmadu Bello Road, chanting slogans such as “Tinubu ze soka’ kaa’sa,” meaning “Tinubu must step down.”

Protesters displayed banners, flags in Nigeria’s green-white-green colors, and placards with messages like “#End Hunger in Nigeria.” The crowd started marching at 10:15 am on Monday, expressing their dissatisfaction and desire for change.

As they moved through the city, the protesters cheered military vehicles and shouted, “Tinubu yaa’so’ka, mu’na so soja,” meaning “Tinubu step down, we want soldiers.” Security forces, including anti-riot police in six vans, were deployed to manage the situation, with additional officers stationed at strategic points along Ahmadu Bello Road to the Central Market.

The demonstration grew as more people joined from areas like Constitution Road, Saudana Crescent, Katuru Road, Offa Road, and Abuja Road. Some protesters were seen carrying a flag resembling the Russian flag, while others chanted in Hausa, “Bama so,” meaning “We don’t want hunger.”

A more radical group among the protesters burned and tore the Nigerian flag. Despite police efforts to disperse them and clear the roads, the protesters insisted on marching towards the Government House, prompting security personnel to call for reinforcements as the crowd continued to grow.
