Presidency Highlights Key Education Reforms Under Tinubu Administration
The presidency has outlined several reforms introduced under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration aimed at transforming Nigeria’s education sector.
In a statement shared on Saturday via his X (formerly Twitter) account, the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Olusegun Dada, listed the initiatives as part of the federal government’s Renewed Hope agenda.
Among the major reforms is the introduction of a Student Loan Scheme, designed to improve access to higher education across the country.
The government has also reinstated history as a core subject at all levels of education, reversing a long-standing policy that removed it from the school curriculum.
Dada further mentioned the launch of the “Education for Renewed Hope” Roadmap, under the National Education Strategic Roadmap Initiative (NESRI), which outlines the administration’s long-term vision for the sector.
In addition, a comprehensive curriculum review is underway to place greater emphasis on entrepreneurship, digital literacy, and civic education, preparing students for a modern and evolving economy.
Another key reform includes the expansion of the school feeding programme, which now incorporates digital registries linked to the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), aimed at improving transparency and targeting.
“These are some of the ongoing reforms in the education sector, in line with the #RenewedHope agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration,” Dada wrote.
The reforms signal a renewed focus on quality, inclusivity, and future-readiness in Nigeria’s education system.
