President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday, June 28, 2025, for a two-nation diplomatic tour to Saint Lucia and Brazil, according to a statement by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga.

The President’s first stop will be in Saint Lucia, where he will embark on a state visit aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic and developmental ties with Caribbean nations.

A key highlight of the visit will be President Tinubu’s address to a special joint session of Saint Lucia’s Senate and House of Assembly, scheduled to take place at the William Jefferson Clinton Ballroom, Sandals Grande, Gros Islet. The event will be attended by the Heads of Government of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), senior Saint Lucian officials, diplomats, members of the Nigerian community in Saint Lucia, and OECS Director-General Dr. Didacus Jules.

While in Castries, the capital of Saint Lucia, President Tinubu is also expected to visit the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College, where discussions will center on expanding educational collaboration and academic exchange between Nigeria and Saint Lucia.

From Saint Lucia, the President will proceed to Brazil to participate in the 17th BRICS Summit, to be held in Rio de Janeiro from July 6 to 7, 2025. Nigeria is attending the summit as a “partner country.”
