Abdullahi Garba, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation, emphasized the need for efficient management of the nation’s airports to prevent significant damage.

Addressing Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development officials during an investigative hearing in Abuja on Thursday, Garba highlighted that airports should be managed by experts to ensure safety and support economic development.

The hearing, which followed resolutions passed by the House on May 21, 2024, aimed to assess the competency of Nigeria’s airports. Garba expressed concern over the functionality of airport infrastructure and technical equipment, stressing that airports are critical security zones requiring qualified personnel and contractors.
