Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi, Plateau State, has revealed that he has been receiving threats from aides and loyalists of President Bola Tinubu over his advocacy against what he describes as the ongoing Christian genocide in the state.

In a video circulating on social media since Friday, Rev. Dachomo said that in the past two months, after publicly countering the government’s denial of targeted killings of Christians in Plateau and other parts of the Middle Belt, he has been warned to desist from his advocacy, with threats allegedly originating from Aso Rock.

“They are threatening and warning me to stop exposing Tinubu’s government at the global level over the ongoing killings of Christians in Nigeria by Fulani terrorists. They say they’re watching my every move from Aso Rock,” he said in the video.

He recounted receiving a direct call from an official who reportedly told him to stop exposing the government internationally, prompting Dachomo to respond that the government’s inaction is itself exposing Christians to violence. He also described visiting a gravesite near Abuja, where he witnessed the aftermath of attacks, emphasizing the severity of the situation.

Rev. Dachomo accused the Nigerian government of failing to take decisive action against Boko Haram, ISWAP, and Fulani bandits, claiming that their silence has emboldened extremist groups to continue attacks. He condemned officials who deny the existence of targeted killings, describing their silence and public denials as an attempt to delegitimize the plight of Christians.

Addressing claims by Sheikh Ahmad Gumi that some mass graves contain empty coffins, Rev. Dachomo dismissed the assertion and called for international verification. “All stakeholders must visit the gravesite to verify the truth. The Chief Justice of Nigeria, the Chief of Defence, the Chief of Army Staff, and the GOC must be present. Let us dig the grave and see what is there,” he said.

He further urged that security personnel guard the graves and monuments to prevent tampering, warning that mercenaries could attempt to remove evidence. Dachomo concluded the video in tears, calling for justice and international accountability for the victims of the attacks.
