The Senate has rescheduled its plenary sessions, originally planned for Tuesday, April 16, 2024, to Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
This adjustment is deemed necessary to allow for the completion of renovations on the main chambers of both the Senate and the House of Representatives, ensuring their readiness for future plenary sessions.
According to our correspondent, the Clerk to the Senate, Chinedu Akubueze, conveyed this development to the lawmakers through an internal correspondence on Saturday. The message addressed to the senators stated, “Distinguished Senators are hereby informed that the resumption of the plenary sitting of the Senate, initially set for Tuesday, April 17, 2024, has been postponed to Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
“This postponement is due to unforeseen circumstances, and we deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause.”
