Lagos East Senator Adetokunbo Abiru has urged Nigerian youths to cancel their planned protest and engage in continuous dialogue for the nation’s benefit.

In a statement released by his media aide, Enitan Olukotun, on Friday, Abiru called for understanding from all Nigerians. He assured that President Bola Tinubu is aware of the socio-economic challenges facing the people, which existed before his administration.

Abiru stated that the President and the country’s political leadership are making significant efforts to address the macro-economic issues causing the current hardship. He highlighted the government’s socio-economic intervention programs aimed at the most vulnerable, including the youth, and expressed the government’s willingness to engage with the public on other concerns.

He appealed to Nigerian youths to understand and cancel the planned protest, citing intelligence reports from security services suggesting that the protest could be hijacked by enemies of the state. He urged the organizers to engage with the government and present their specific demands, as the government has shown a commitment to listening and addressing their concerns.
