Senator Sunday Karimi of Kogi West, speaking out against Senator Ali Ndume’s recent comments critical of the Bola Tinubu-led government, has cautioned his colleague to refrain from making derogatory remarks.

Karimi expressed concern over Ndume’s approach, describing it as volatile and potentially divisive. Ndume, in his capacity as Chief Whip of the Senate, had characterized the current Nigerian government as being under the influence of “kakistocrats and kleptocrats.”

In response, Senator Karimi highlighted what he perceives as Ndume’s personal agenda to undermine the Tinubu administration, noting inconsistencies and a lack of substantiated evidence in his allegations. Karimi suggested that Ndume’s criticisms may be driven more by a desire to undermine rather than constructively engage in governance improvement.

“As a seasoned legislator with decades of service in the National Assembly,” Karimi advised Ndume to exercise caution in his statements, urging him to refrain from making inflammatory remarks that could further divide the nation.

“Senator Ndume should consider adopting a more constructive and responsible approach to criticism,” Karimi emphasized, stressing the importance of fostering unity and engaging in meaningful dialogue for the collective pursuit of national development.
