SGF Akume Convenes Strategic Security Meeting with Council of State, Police Council

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, has invited members of the Council of State and the Police Council to a high-level strategic security meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 9, 2025.

The invitation was announced in a statement released on Monday in Abuja by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Segun Imohiosen.

According to the statement, the meeting will be held in a hybrid format—both virtual and physical—at the Council Chambers, Aso Villa.

Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Affairs Office, Emanso Umobong, noted that the meeting will focus on matters of national importance, particularly security and policing challenges across the country.

The schedule includes:

• Council of State meeting: 1:00 p.m.

• Police Council meeting: 2:00 p.m.

Participants are expected to attend either physically or virtually, depending on availability and preference.

The statement emphasized that the engagement aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to addressing urgent national issues and reinforcing Nigeria’s security architecture through robust dialogue and institutional collaboration.
