Tinubu Appoints Board for Consumer Credit Corporation

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Uzoma Nwagba as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP).

Additionally, on Wednesday, the President appointed Otunba Aderemi Abdul as Board Chairman (independent non-executive director), Mrs. Aisha Abdullahi as Executive Director of Credit, Risk and Portfolio, and Ms. Olanike Kolawole as Executive Director of Operations.

Other appointees include Dr. Armstrong Ume Takang (MOFI nominee), Dr. Peter Iwegbu (NIMC nominee), Mohammed Nasiru Abbas (FMITI nominee), Mr. Marvin Nadah (FCCPC nominee), and a representative from the FMF, all serving as non-executive directors.

A statement by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, highlighted that the President expects the new board members to leverage their extensive experience, competence, and dedication to fulfill CREDICORP’s mandate of expanding consumer credit access for millions of Nigerians. Ngelale added that these appointments aim to expedite the process of broadening consumer credit availability in the country.
