Tinubu Approves Development Commission Bills for North-West and South-East

President Bola Tinubu has signed into law two key bills aimed at advancing development across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones. The President approved the North-West Development Commission (Establishment) Bill 2024 and the South-East Development Commission (Establishment) Bill 2023.

According to a statement from the presidency on Wednesday, the North-West Development Commission will focus on rebuilding infrastructure such as roads, houses, and business premises affected by various crises. It will also address poverty, education, ecological issues, and other developmental challenges in North-West states.

Similarly, the South-East Development Commission is tasked with the reconstruction and rehabilitation of infrastructure in the South-East zone, addressing ecological problems, and tackling other environmental and developmental issues in the region.

President Tinubu emphasized his commitment to fairness, equity, and unity in nation-building. He expressed his dedication to ensuring balanced development, inclusive governance, and quality services for all Nigerians, reinforcing the country’s unity.
