Tinubu Congratulates NNPC GCEO Bayo Ojulari on 60th Birthday, Hails Leadership in Energy Sector
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Bashir Bayo Ojulari, Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
In a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Tinubu praised Ojulari’s outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, describing him as a transformational leader with a visionary approach to energy sector reform.
The President noted Ojulari’s impressive career, which includes serving as Executive Vice President and COO of Renaissance Africa Energy Company before his appointment as GCEO of NNPC Limited in April 2025. He also led the Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo) as Managing Director from 2015 to 2021.
President Tinubu commended Ojulari’s recent achievements at NNPC, particularly the increase in Nigeria’s oil production from 1.5 million to 1.7 million barrels per day within two months. He expressed optimism that the country is on track to meet its target of 1.9 million barrels daily by the end of the year.
“You have your work clearly defined before you,” Tinubu said. “As head of NNPC Limited, your mission is to win investor confidence and ensure NNPC becomes a key driver of Nigeria’s economic growth.”
The President urged Ojulari to continue leading with integrity and dedication, assuring him that his efforts would play a vital role in restoring public trust and delivering energy security for the nation.
“On your birthday, my message to you is simple: continue to serve God and country with commitment and transparency. Your leadership brings renewed hope to Nigerians and strengthens our energy sector.”
President Tinubu concluded his tribute by praying for continued strength, wisdom, and success for Ojulari as he steers NNPC Limited to greater heights.
