President Bola Tinubu has disclosed the challenges and delays involved in the selection of ambassadors for Nigeria. He explained that he cannot simply appoint anyone, which has contributed to the hold-up in finalizing the list.

While acknowledging that there are still some ambassadorial positions available, Tinubu expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their understanding during this period.

In a video message, he emphasized the need to stabilize the nation’s economy and instill hope in the populace before revealing his choices for ambassadors.

“I haven’t been able to appoint everyone I could have, so I appreciate your patience up to this point. There are still a number of ambassadorial positions that many desire, but compiling the right names is not straightforward.

“My priority is to revitalize the economy and restore hope to our citizens, as that’s what we aim for, and I believe that hope is on the horizon. Thank you for your faith in me,” he stated.

The last group of Nigerian ambassadors was appointed under the administration of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
