Tinubu Recalls NTA DG Dembos, Cancels New Appointments

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the reinstatement of Mr. Salihu Abdullahi Dembos as Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).

The directive was announced in a statement on Tuesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, Dembos, who had briefly stepped aside due to recent management changes, was originally appointed by President Tinubu in October 2023 and will now return to complete his three-year tenure.

Also reinstated is Mr. Ayo Adewuyi, Executive Director of News, who was appointed in 2024. He will continue in his role until the end of his tenure in 2027.

Onanuga confirmed that the President’s directive nullifies recent appointments made to key positions, including a new director-general, executive director of news, executive director of marketing, and the managing director of NTA Enterprises.
