Tinubu Set to Decide on New Minimum Wage This Thursday

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, revealed that President Bola Tinubu is expected to make a final decision on the new minimum wage by Thursday this week. He stated that the President plans to meet with organised Labour on Thursday to discuss the proposed amount to be forwarded to the National Assembly.

Idris mentioned that the Federal Executive Council has extensively discussed the national minimum wage and will convene a meeting with organised Labour later this week. He emphasized that while the President is open to increasing the national minimum wage, careful consideration is being taken to avoid triggering significant inflationary pressures in the country.
