President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja for Lagos State on Friday ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir festival.

This was disclosed by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, who stated that Tinubu will observe Eid-el-Kabir in Lagos, where he will also spend the Sallah holidays. Ngelale added that the President will mark the occasion with prayers and reflection on advancing the transformation of Nigeria in line with his Renewed Hope Agenda.

Saudi Arabia earlier announced June 16 as Sallah day following the sighting of the Dhul Hijjah crescent, signaling the beginning of the 12th Islamic month. Eid al-Adha, the biggest Islamic festival, falls on the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah. Eid ul-Adha is celebrated by Muslims worldwide on the tenth day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the twelfth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. It is the second major Islamic festival celebrated by Muslims after Eid-ul-Fitr.
