1. Boat Tragedy Claims Lives in Sokoto

At least 30 people, including several women, are feared dead after a boat capsized on Sunday in Kojiyo village, Goronyo LGA of Sokoto State. The victims were en route to the weekly Goronyo market when the overloaded vessel, carrying passengers and goods, overturned around 1:30 p.m.

2. Emir of Zuru Passes Away at 81

The Emir of Zuru, Kebbi State, Major General Muhammadu Sani Sami (rtd.), known as Gomo II, has died at the age of 81. He passed away on Saturday in a London hospital following a brief illness. He is survived by four wives and seven children.

3. NNPP Rejects Kano Assembly Re-run Result

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano has rejected the outcome of the Ghari/Tsanyawa State Assembly re-run election.
