1. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the reinstatement of Mr. Salihu Abdullahi Dembos, who is the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). Dembos had briefly stepped down due to some organizational changes at the national broadcaster. As stated by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information & Strategy, Dembos will now return to fulfill the remainder of his three-year term.
2. Senator Bala Mohammed, who chairs the Governors’ Forum of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and serves as the governor of Bauchi State, has expressed that the party has reached its limit with individuals causing discord. In response to a new set of demands from a faction aligned with Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, regarding conditions for a peaceful PDP convention, Mohammed asserted that the party’s leaders are not intimidated.
