- The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, was released on bail around 11:25 PM by the Department of State Services (DSS), just before the midnight deadline set by unionists. Ajaero was arrested earlier Monday morning at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, while heading to the UK for an official assignment.
- DSS operatives on Monday surrounded the office of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) in Abuja. According to a post on X, the legal and advocacy group stated that the agents requested to meet with its directors.
- The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) disclosed on Monday that they are aware of the sponsors behind the #EndBadGovernance protests in August. PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, asserted that the true cause of the protests is hunger, urging the government to address the issue rather than arresting citizens.
