1. Rivers State House of Assembly Speaker Martins Amaewhule and 26 other lawmakers remain members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a state High Court in Port Harcourt ruled on Monday. Justice Okogbule Gbasam determined that party membership is proven by being listed on the party’s register.

2. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has assembled a team of operatives to investigate the alleged mismanagement of N423 billion by former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai and key members of his administration. The former governor is expected to be invited for questioning soon.

3. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd) as the new Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), replacing Solomon Arase. This was announced by presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale in a statement on Monday.

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested Tobi Shonibare and Odusanya Oni on charges of allegedly stealing electric cables valued at about N650,000 in the Isonyin community, located in the Ijebu North-East Local Government Area. The suspects were apprehended on June 7, 2024, while attempting to sell the allegedly stolen items.
