1. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has refuted President Bola Tinubu’s claims that an agreement was reached on the new national minimum wage, stating that organized labor did not agree on any specific figure.
2. The 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, has requested special security arrangements for the upcoming Sallah festivities from the Police Commissioner in Kano. This request was made in a letter dated June 10, 2024, with reference number Ref: HRH/ADM/06/1/217, signed by the Emir’s Private Secretary.
3. Salihu Mohammed Lukman, former national vice chairman (North-West) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has resigned from the party. Lukman, a former member of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), cited “lack of internal democracy” and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s alleged failure to implement reforms as his reasons for leaving.
4. Former President Goodluck Jonathan has accused some state governors of supporting criminals for political purposes instead of promoting competent civil servants. He made this claim on Wednesday in Benin during the inauguration of the refurbished state secretariat by Governor Godwin Obaseki.

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has dismissed an application by Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), seeking to challenge the order that outlawed the group. The court sided with the Federal Government’s lawyer, Oyin Koleosho, in ruling the application inappropriate.
8. The Office of the Head of Service has suspended Ambassador Ibrahim Lamuwa, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, over a sexual harassment allegation. Head of Service Folashade Yemi-Esan stated that Lamuwa would remain suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.
9. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has accused ex-Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello, who faces N80.2bn fraud charges, of undermining the Nigerian justice system by not appearing in court. EFCC Acting Zonal Director, Benin Zonal Command, Effa Okim, made this statement during a visit to the Delta State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Asaba.
10. The Delta State High Court in Asaba has sentenced Nigeria Police Force Inspector Ubi Ebri to death for the murder of phone dealer Mr. Onyeka Ibeh. Justice C. D. Diai presided over the case, which resulted in the conviction and death sentence of Inspector Ebri.
