1. The Federal Government has held the Ogun State government responsible for the agreement with Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment, a Chinese firm, which led to the seizure of presidential jets. Foreign Affairs Minister, Yusuf Tuggar, stated that the federal government is taking steps to resolve the issue.

2. The Chairman of the National Peace Committee (NPC) and former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (retd), along with Convener Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah and other committee members, have outlined reasons for the lower-than-expected voter turnout in the 2023 general elections. They shared their insights on Friday during the formal presentation of the NPC’s 2023 General Elections Report in Abuja.

3. Medical personnel in Jos, the Plateau State capital, are working to save the life of the Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) Chairman of Qua’an Pan Local Government Area, Hon Christopher Audu, who was reportedly attacked by delegates during a primary election on Friday.

8. The National Judicial Council (NJC) has set up four probe panels to investigate 27 high court judges across the country for alleged judicial misconduct. The Council also issued a letter of caution to Justice O. M. Olagunju of the Oyo State High Court, advising greater caution in his role as a judicial officer, even under challenging circumstances.

9. During Friday’s Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting in Abuja, a total of N1.358 trillion was distributed among the Federal Government, State Governments, and Local Government Councils. The allocation covers the July 2024 Federation Accounts Revenue.

10. Justice F.O. Enenmo of the Delta High Court in Kwale Judicial Division has convicted two individuals in separate cases of murder and armed robbery. In the case marked (HCK/13C/2021), Justice Enenmo sentenced Izagwu Obodo for the murder of Nonso Dibia on August 21, 2021, in the Umu-Itchi community.
