1. On Tuesday, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State instructed the heads of local government administration to oversee the 23 council areas following the end of the three-year terms for the elected chairmen, vice chairmen, and councillors.
2. President Bola Tinubu is set to attend the inauguration of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa today in Pretoria, South Africa. According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu will return to Nigeria after the ceremony.
3. The Presidency on Monday refuted claims by New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) National Leader Rabiu Kwankwaso that the Federal Government plans to declare a state of emergency in Kano State. It dismissed the alleged plot to suspend the state’s democratically elected structures as a “mere rumor.”
