1. President Bola Tinubu is set to travel to France on Monday (today) for a brief work stay. This was revealed in a statement on Sunday by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

2. Former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has explained that Professor Pat Utomi, a Political Economy expert, was blacklisted by the Ogun State House of Assembly during his administration due to Utomi’s alleged involvement in questionable business practices.

3. Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has denied having any intention of running for the presidency in 2027. In a statement on Sunday, Ganduje’s Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, dismissed circulating posters suggesting that Ganduje would run for president in 2027 with Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, as his running mate.

9. The Katsina State Police Command has announced that it thwarted a kidnapping attempt on the Magama-Katsina Road on Saturday. According to reports, terrorists armed with AK-47 rifles blocked the road late on Saturday, attacked a J5 vehicle, kidnapped seven passengers, and set the vehicle on fire.

10. The competition to succeed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun is reportedly heating up as his retirement date approaches. Egbetokun, who was appointed on June 19 of last year, is scheduled to retire on September 4 when he turns 60.
