1. Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, continues his criticism of President Bola Tinubu. Recently removed as the Chief Whip of the Senate, Ndume made his remarks during a chat with journalists.
2. The Labour Party (LP) leadership has criticized Presidential aide Mr. Bayo Onanuga, who, in a tweet, linked the LP, its national leader Peter Obi, and notable party figures to the proposed ‘EndBadGovernance’ protest. In a statement on Saturday, Obiora Ifoh, the National Publicity Secretary of LP, refuted the claim, describing the tweet as a fabrication.
3. The 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, attended the annual peace prayer for the nation organized by the Isyaku Rabiu family on Saturday. The Holy Qur’an is recited up to 3,000 times within the first Islamic month to pray for the country’s peace, prosperity, and progress.
4. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned Rufus John Isip, a self-proclaimed forex broker, for an alleged N2 billion investment scam in Akwa Ibom State. EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale stated in a press release on Saturday that Isip obtained part of the N2,022,081,172 from Michael Okon, the Director of N-Rex Resources Limited, under false pretenses.

A Benue State High Court in Makurdi has awarded N800 million against the Nigerian Army and 10 others for the murder of Sixtus Terfa Akure, a Senior Inspector of Taxes with the Benue State Board of Internal Revenue Service (BIRS). Akure was found dead by the roadside near Aper Aku Estate in North Bank, Makurdi, after being abducted by Nigerian Army personnel on January 15, 2022.
6. Bandits have killed two people and abducted several National Youth Services Corps (NYSC) members traveling on the Ifon/Owo road in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State. The bandits attacked the passengers en route to the state on Friday night.

10. The police in Lagos State continue to pursue fleeing members of a notorious kidnapping gang who had planned to abduct wealthy individuals in the state. Nine gang members were killed during an operation on Thursday, July 9, in the Ladipo area of the state.
