1. President Bola Tinubu returned to Abuja on Thursday evening from Johannesburg, South Africa, where he attended the inauguration of President Cyril Ramaphosa for his second term. President Tinubu, who arrived in Abuja around 5:30 pm, had been in Lagos since last Friday for the Eid-el-Kabir festivities.
2. A mechanic known as Yellow Bobo was allegedly stabbed to death by a soldier during an argument in Kugbo mechanic village along the Keffi-Abuja road, Abuja. The soldier reportedly fled the scene after the incident.
3. A Federal High Court in Kano has nullified the reinstatement of Muhammadu Sanusi II as the 16th Emir of Kano. The court, presided over by Justice Abdullahi Muhammad Liman, nullified all actions taken following the reinstatement.
4. At least 37 deaths have been recorded in the current cholera outbreak affecting 30 states, including Lagos and Ogun. The Lagos State Ministry of Health announced on Thursday that the state had recorded an additional six cholera deaths, bringing the total to 21.

8. The Nasarawa State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has seized a total of 7,149 kilograms of hard drugs between July 2023 and June 2024. The State Commander of the NDLEA, Peter Onche-Odaudu, disclosed this during a press briefing on Thursday as part of activities marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in Lafia.
9. The police in Ekiti have commenced an investigation into the murder of a Point of Sale agent known as Alfa by unidentified gunmen. The assailants also shot dead a wheelbarrow pusher hawking rice in the Oja Bisi area of the state capital on the same day.

The Kano State government stated that a ruling delivered by the Federal High Court, presided over by Justice Abdullahi Muhammad Liman, earlier on Thursday, confirms that Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II is still the Emir of Kano. The State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Haruna Isah Dederi, announced this during a press conference held at the Government House on Thursday evening.
