1. Atiku Abubakar, who ran as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, visited former President Muhammadu Buhari at his residence in Daura. Their meeting was captured in a viral video that circulated on Saturday.
2. A Federal High Court in Lagos has issued a permanent order forfeiting properties worth N11.1 billion and N1.04 billion to the Federal Government. These properties are linked to the embattled former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele. Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke finalized the forfeiture after considering a motion filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), represented by counsel Chineye Okezie.
3. Ousted chairmen of local government areas in Rivers State are contesting decisions made by newly inaugurated caretaker chairmen to dissolve standing committees within their councils. Dr. Samuel Nwanosike, the former Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, criticized caretaker chairman Darlington Orji, arguing that Orji lacked the legitimacy to dissolve these committees.
4. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Makurdi Zonal Command, has arrested two former Union Bank staff in Makurdi, Benue State. Idah Ogoh and Agbo Okwute are accused of stealing N4,199,500.00 belonging to a deceased customer. 9. A 16-year-old apprentice barber identified as Dimeji was swept away on Friday after heavy rainfall near St. Anthony Secondary School in Igbeba, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. Dimeji accidentally stepped into a canal, thinking there was a pedestrian plank crossing the gully, and was swept away by erosion.
