1. Amnesty International reported on Wednesday that armed invaders have killed at least 540 people in rural communities across four local government areas in Benue State within the first two months of this year. Mrs. Barbara Magaji, the programme manager of Amnesty International, disclosed this during a press conference in Makurdi.
2. Former Governor Nasir El-Rufai has sued the Kaduna State House of Assembly over allegations that N432 billion was siphoned during his eight-year administration, leaving the state with significant debt. El-Rufai filed a fundamental rights suit at the Federal High Court in Kaduna against the state House of Assembly on Wednesday.
3. A cooking gas explosion in Jamata, a community in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State, has razed at least 100 houses. The explosion occurred on Wednesday, destroying properties worth millions of naira and bringing down buildings.
4. The Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) concluded their closed-door meeting on Wednesday with an agreement to resolve all contentious issues amicably to avert a strike. ASUU President, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, who led the union’s team, informed newsmen that the negotiation process had begun.

Justice Inyang Ekwo adjourned the matter on Wednesday to allow the plaintiff to respond to a fresh application filed by Ganduje challenging the competence of the suit.
