1. Fuel scarcity has hit many parts of the country as depots for Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) run dry. Lagos, Ogun, parts of Abuja, Niger, and other states are experiencing long queues. Black marketers are exploiting the situation, selling petrol for between N1,300 and N1,500 per litre in parts of Lagos and Ogun.

2. The Centre for the Promotion of Private Enterprise warns that the planned nationwide protests on August 1 could cause an estimated daily loss of N400bn, with severe consequences for the country. Dr. Muda Yusuf, Director/CEO of CPPE, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.

3. The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old woman, Yetunde Gbadebo, for attempting to sell her three-year-old daughter on Aladiye Street in Sagamu. She was caught negotiating a price of N700,000 with a 38-year-old man, Sunday None.

4. Gunmen attacked a Nigeria Customs Service patrol base in Koko, Kebbi State, killing one officer and abducting another. The incident occurred on Thursday, as confirmed by Mohammed Tajuddeen Salisu, Public Relations Officer of the Kebbi Area Command.

5. A High Court in Kwale, Delta State, has sentenced Efajemue Israel Aziakpono to 16 years imprisonment for conspiracy to commit arson and arson. Justice O.F. Enenmo ruled that the sentences will run concurrently.
