1. The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has conducted successful airstrikes against terrorists in the Jubillaram area near Lake Chad, eliminating several militants. Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, announced on Thursday in Abuja. He attributed the success of the operation to the terrorists being forced to higher ground due to heavy rainfall.
2. The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has cracked down on profiteers engaging in excessive pricing of goods and services across Nigeria, according to Executive Vice Chairman/CEO Tunji Bello. The commission also condemned market associations for price-fixing practices.
3. Resident doctors on the current seven-day strike face the possibility of losing their salaries for the period, the Federal Government warned on Thursday. Ado Bako, spokesperson for the Federal Ministry of Health, stated that the government plans to enforce the “No Work, No Pay” policy against the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).

8. The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has ended a temporary policy that allowed visitors to apply for work permits within Canada. The policy, introduced in August 2020, aimed to assist visitors unable to leave the country due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.

A 39-year-old man, Bassey Ikpi, was arraigned on Thursday before the Lagos State Chief Magistrate Court in Ebute-Metta, accused of defrauding individuals and companies while posing as a forex trader. The police have charged him with conspiracy, obtaining by false pretence, fraud, and breach of public peace.
